I’m passionate about life and living. My teaching and counseling style are dynamic and genuine. I love taking people on a journey of discovery, introspection, and transformation. I practice what I preach and I believe in hard work to get where you want to go in life.
As a certified coach, licensed professional counselor, and sound therapist, I use experiential therapies that 'surprise and delight' the most cynical of practitioners. I don't waste time talking about or dwelling over "problems." Instead, I encourage safety/trust in order to be able to get to the work that invites visible changes in how one thinks, feels, and behaves. There are no problems - just solutions! Solutions are everywhere - we just can't recognize them from a mind that's stuck or conditioned with "problematic" ways of thinking/believing - BUT when a client realizes problems are just opportunities in disguise- game on!
I have over twenty-five years of experience teaching, training, and creating programs, along with a background in education, counseling, psychology, and sound therapy. I've worked hard to achieve my goals. I can appreciate and respect difference but to do so, I've had to learn how to see likeness. Competitive sports and Ivy League Institutions pushed me to run faster, study harder, and achieve more. Chronic fatigue, Epstein Barr, and vocal polyps taught me that "less is more," and they catapulted me into discovering the magic of vibrational healing.
Over the years, I've learned how to slow down, breathe, smell the roses, and trust the process - not just race towards the end goal. In so doing, I've gotten to appreciate likeness, not just difference. Meeting others exactly where they are, in non-judgment, takes patience, experience, and lots of working on my self. Now, I am better able to listen and to allow others to appreciate their unique gifts. I love empowering youth, adults, families, co-workers, athletes, etc. with simple tools that work! It’s exciting to witness clients thrive. I’m currently supporting & training clinicians to add new skills and to realize new goals that allow them to build partnerships, provide gainful, purposeful employment, while creating connections & inspiring others.
As the Founder and Owner of Heal From The Core, LLC, I have worked with elite physicians, clinicians, and executives as well as with employees and caregivers in high stress industries, Cooper trauma doctors and personnel, EMT, professional and collegiate athletes; parents; students; families, and ordinary ole' people simply wanting to become more resilient and feel better about life and living.
I worked full time while earning a M.S. in Counseling & Human Relations from Villanova University. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, a Nationally Board Certified Counselor in Individual/family counseling, as well as in Secondary School Counseling, and a Sound Therapist. I specialize in helping clients learn simple tools for self-regulation. In a world that tends to 'compare and despair' and race to the finish line, we tend to lose touch with basic humanity, morality, and working together. We have forgotten how good hard work feels in a microwave society that serves up whatever we want in minutes. My dad taught me old-school values and he encouraged good, old-fashioned work. The difference is that I now can 'whistle while I work.' Purposeful work doesn't feel like work. So when I learned how to safely and consistently return back "home" to my Self, everything changed. I'm all about teaching how to find your HOME NOTE - how to rediscover trust/faith in order to flow with life - while being able to think creatively, live independently, be self-motivated, and focus energy to create and achieve all things.
I worked full time at the University of Pennsylvania while attending school and earned a B.A. from the Annenberg School of Communications with a concentration in Education in 1990. I burned the candle at both ends until there was nothing left and I kept on going. In my fifth and final year, I focused on being a full-time student and decided to walk on to the Women's Lacrosse Team and started at center at our home opener vs. Harvard.
YES - "You can do anything you set your mind to" - just don't lose your mind (and your health) getting there. Life is far better with a little balance -especially once you’re able to discern when you’re out of balance. Awareness is not for everybody, but if/when you're ready, everything can and does change. And when you're not afraid to do "the work," you can learn to let go -of the need to know, the need to be right, and the need to control life. When you're consistently self-regulated, you can allow life to come to you - in all its magnificent ways.
