It's All About That Base

What is a Chakra?
Chakras are our energy centers. They are the openings for life energy to flow into and out of our aura. Their function is to vitalize the physical body and to bring about the development of our self-consciousness. They are associated with our physical, mental and emotional interactions.

Simply put, our chakras are responsible for creating and maintaining our existence.  They are who we are, our essence.

They run from the base of the spine to the crown of the head.  They're not in the physical body, but rather are part of the subtle energy body or aura.

The first three (3) chakras affect us personally (root, sacral, solar plexus) while the upper four (4) chakras are universal in their effect (heart, throat, brow, crown).

We have Seven Major Chakras:
  • Root Chakra
  • Sacral Chakra
  • Solar Plexus Chakra
  • Heart Chakra
  • Throat Chakra
  • Brow (Third-Eye) Chakra
  • Crown Chakra

We also have other chakras such as the minor chakras in our hands, feet, and knees as well as two that are below our feet --
  • Higher Earth - cleansing & stabilizing
  • Earth - grounding & protecting
The "higher heart" is just above the 4th Chakra over the thymus
and another 12 inches above the crown is the chakra that connects us to the Divine.

There is a front and back to the chakras.  With the front for what is going on now and what is coming in, while the back is for what is going out or for things we are putting in our past or trying to put behind us.

The main channels of energy surrounding and flowing from the center of each chakra are called "Nadis."  They are related to the nervous system and the meridians.

There are three (3) primary Nadis that run parallel to the body's physical axis of the spine:
  • Ida - left channel carriers lunar energy to nourish and purify (feminine)
  • Pingala - right channel carries solar energy (masculine)
  • Sushumna - central and most important for enlightenment/awareness

THE ROOT CHAKRA
Root Chakra is our foundation and is located at the base of the spine or coccyx. A solid foundation is essential for grounding us so that the rest of our life may unfold and blossom. This Chakra is our most physical chakra and is our most primal -- relating to survival instincts which include food and shelter, our body and identity as an individual, and our connection to others.

Our health, constitution and security including material wealth are linked to the root chakra. It is our grounding force that allows us to connect to the earth energies and empowers our being. This chakra has to do with survival, money, vitality, strength, security, and karma.

Our root chakra drives our need to create a safe, comfortable home environment; to be financially secure; and to have loving relationships. An open root chakra gives us the ability to plan for the future instead of simply reacting impulsively to circumstances.

The color representing the root chakra is red and the symbol is a SQUARE as it represents strong foundations and solidity.  A square symbolizes the four directions and the ability to move in any of them.

Our root energy is channeled through the adrenal glands above the kidneys, which enables us to respond quickly and activates our instinctual ‘fight or flight’ reactions. If we're stressed, financially or otherwise, our adrenals are being taxed. Even if finances are in order, a closed root chakra can manifest in unsatisfactory relationships, a chaotic home environment, or a profound lack of the courage and self-confidence necessary to pursue our dreams.

The main function of the root chakra is embodiment and grounding.  It relates with our eliminative system, large intestines, skeletal system, reproductive system, adrenals, weight issues, hips, legs, and feet.

The result of a blocked root chakra can be diminished self-confidence, guilt, hopelessness, feelings of being overwhelmed, resentment and depression.

A Healthy Root Chakra:
  • Healthy & Happy in Your Body
  • A Relatively Healthy Physical Body with Good Vitality
  • Basic Sense of Security & Safety
  • Grounded
  • Practical Side of Life Functions Smoothly

DO ANY ACTIVITY THAT BRINGS AWARENESS OF YOUR BODY and AWARENESS OF THE EARTH, being careful not to overdo it!  Exhaustion is NOT GOOD.

SO TODAY TAKE ACTION.  TAKE TIME TO GROUND YOURSELF.

Take in the beauty of your surroundings. Be grateful for the people in your life. Breathe deeply and often. Thank Mother Earth for Her bounty and connect with Her in any way you can. See and feel abundantly. Be kind to yourself, to the earth, and to others.

Soon that beautiful ball of glowing red energy will flow freely, pulsing passionately throughout your body, healing, enlivening and enriching your being and the world around you!

Breath: The Key To Self Mastery

"Our breath can help us step back -- to observe a particular experience or current difficulty that feels like a struggle.  Using the breath calms the body so we can access and direct our Light -- cleansing and healing our energetic bodies.  White light removes negativity, transmuting fear into love."  xo - jewelsheart
We are living in a hectic time with a lot of emotion coming to the surface.  We are also living at a time when there is an abundance of light available to us, from the higher realm, ready and waiting to assist us.

We simply need the know-how for accessing our Light, to open up our hearts and to connect with the abundance of light streaming all around us.  Once accessed, we can bring it into our bodies.

There can be consequences and high costs involved when we ignore or fail to heed the body's warning signs.  Warnings are often signaling us to pull over to refuel.

-- We must stop & pay to refuel our cars with gasoline, but the breath costs us nothing.  While breath is free, there's still a charge if you want it:  conscious breathing gives us a full charge!  The indescribable healing charge of cosmic energy.

While breathing is a gift, freely received, requiring little to no effort, it has a special feature.  Unlike the heart, the lungs, and our other major organs that automatically operate our bodily functions, the breath can be controlled manually, willfully, mindfully.

 --
Conscious breathing is a free choice

Consciously Connecting With Source Energy

Do you feel consumed by life– tired, overwhelmed, irritable a lot of the time? Do you feel jittery, anxious, with stores of nervous energy just waiting to be expressed?

How are you using your time? What's draining your energy? How do you refuel?

These questions have everything to do with energy.  You are energy.  Everything is energy.  Awareness of energy is crucial if you want to make change.

In today's modern world, filled with electronic gadgetry and instantaneous access to information, we are perpetually bombarded by stimuli, constantly connected to things that are draining us of our energy (ie. newspaper, computer, iPhone, iPad, microwave, t.v., radio) and overwhelming our nervous systems. Most of the time our attention is so absorbed in multitasking; we behave mindlessly rather than intentionally.

As we race to beat the clock, time quickly disappears. Never fully enjoying the moment, we may eat while reading the newspaper, check emails while helping children with homework, or run through our “to do” lists in our minds while driving.

If we're not careful, our energies can become depleted from the many energy vampires sucking the life out of us.

The Eights Truths About Yoga

How can we meditate if our bodies are sick and diseased?  Of if our minds are uncontrollably restless?

Yoga āsana has the power to heal the body, to cure disease, and to purify our nerves so that our concentration becomes one-pointed.

Yoga means "union" or "to yoke," which is the key to all healing -- reconnecting what's broken.  Unity brings more purity because wherever there's union there's divinity.  It is the Divine nature of our supreme Self which manifests through the practice of yoga.  Our Union is connection, and our connection gives us safety.

Our own body understands this, connecting the muscles to the bones and hugging the organs close, because our bodies know that we want everything together.  If even one part of our body comes into danger, the whole body pays a lot of attention because it knows that its existence is dependent on every part of itself.

Our bodies are teaching us to pay attention when we feel pain from part of it becoming hurt, and we do -- and we take care of our bodies as a result.  But a yogi, a real student of union, sees the whole universe as his or her body.  More than sees, actually feels the universe as their own.

Amma knows your pain is mine, actually, she feels our pain as her own.  Amma
recognizes the spirit of Union as being the real spirit of the yogi.  A true yogi is only always trying to create union with the Divine, to unite with the healing force of Mother Nature and Her medicines, to unite the families into loving harmony, to unite the communities into peaceful relations, to unite the peoples of all lands and ways, to unite even the terrible and the horrifying with the chance for redemption into the Unity of love.

Simplicity. Healing. Core wellness.

We've gotten away from ourselves. We've put the cart before the horse. We're no longer living, truly living. We've grown materially comfortable but we're still hungry. We're hungry to express ourselves purposefully, authentically.

Life will continually spin out of control if we don't learn how to rein it in. It takes intentional effort to want to slow down and feel good. You must want it.

Life is too short. Real moments are the moments that we feel uncomfortable, that we share truth, where we risk discovering the truth of who we are. To grow we must tap into the fear, venture into the unknown, experience the painful stuff.

"the Universe turns up the heat that's just right for us. Each new situation comes along with predictability of greater severity."
-Dr. David Berceli - The Revolutionary Trauma Release Process

Mental resistance increases our suffering and decreases our chances of survival. When we get stuck or looped in our heads, we don't often realize what we're doing.  Fear and negativity are keeping us repeating the same old song and dance -- failing to see the insanity.

Passionate about self-healing and empowering others to take healing into their own hands.

This blog offers safe space for rediscovering our secret Jewels. My hope is to inspire and empower sincere seekers to join me in activating inner power for recognizing newfound energy as Source and yourself as the ultimate Resource.

Core Healing has changed my life!

Life-time student, grateful wife and mother to three boys (30, 27, 22) and a loyal, loving Parson Russell Terrier (14).

Blessed to spend nine years living out on the West Coast in self-discovery.  Years that brought well-needed space and recovery -- healing, perspective, appreciation and balance -- providing readiness for returning back to the East Coast (since 2013) in order to care for elderly parents and to pursue my  true work.

Thanks to Eckhart Tolle, Bikram Yoga, Guru Paramahansa Yogananda & SRF, running, writing, and doTERRA essential oils as they have been instrumental resources/tools for realizing and rediscovering who I am -- helping me to become aware, to find strength, balance, and inner peace.

I am most grateful for divine guidance and timing as the universe aligned me with Dr. David Berceli, gifting me TRE®, the perfect complementary healing modality that is allowing me to take healing into my own hands.   With consistent TRE practice, I am currently completely pain free and feeling calmly energized, grounded, and empowered.
It has given me resiliency so that I am now able to thrive rather than simply survive. I am now navigating life's challenges with greater ease and grace.

Recently, I trained with Don Conreaux, Master of the Gong.  I am incorporating sound healing into TRE sessions, also emphasizing breath work, visualizations, affirmations, and aromatherapy.  This work continues to amaze me as it is so simple, yet so powerfully effective!

My life mission is to help others to access their innate healing powers so to ground the soul Self so one can become self-supporting.

My work is an extension of my joy and appreciation for everything I've experienced, suffered, and learned and uncovered, especially between 2007 until now.
