Grounding is a technique that helps keep you in the present, reorienting you to the here-and-now. Grounding skills can be helpful in managing overwhelming feelings or intense anxiety. They help to down-regulate the nervous system in order to regain mental focus or clarity that was blocked due to hyper-arousal due to an overwhelmed emotional state.

Qigong is an ancient Chinese health care system that integrates physical postures, breathing techniques and focused intention. The word Qigong (Chi Kung) is made up of two Chinese words. Qi is pronounced chee and is usually translated to mean the life force or vital-energy that flows through all things in the universe.
"Meridian exercise is one of the most effective self-health management skills." says Ilchi Lee in his book, "Meridian Exercises for Self-Healing."

TRE® is another therapeutic, grounding tool used to help individuals self-regulate or return to their natural state of balance.

Life is energy, and the chakras are about energy. "The universal life force circulates through us and brings us the experience of life. The chakras are the storehouse and transmitters of the universal energy, and each of the chakras represent distinct frequencies within the universal." - David Pond
The chakras represent not only particular parts of your physical body, but also particular parts of your consciousness. Your consciousness affects how you perceive your reality. All of your senses, perceptions, and possible states of awareness can be divided into seven categories, and each of these categories can be associated with a particular chakra. When you feel tension in your consciousness, you feel it in the chakra associated with that part of your consciousness experiencing the stress, as well as in the parts of the physical and energetic body associated with that chakra. Where you feel the stress depends therefore on why you feel the stress.
Imagine your chakras as seven floors in a building. If you are on the bottom floor looking out the window, the view is significantly different from the view at top, from the pent house. The higher view offers greater perspective as it is more expansive. The ideal or clearest view depends upon having clean, clear windows. Beliefs often cloud the windows, limiting our view.
With each successive floor, perception expands as we become aware of a larger reality, one that exists beyond little me but one that includes a higher connection or greater Realm.

Breath Work was the first tool I acquired in the long road to finding balance and healing. Breath work restored my voice and helped me avoid undergoing major vocal surgery. Breath is our vital force, our prana. Many of us are totally unaware of our breathing. Conscious breathing should be the first step in any self-directed program of breathing work. By learning to be aware of our breath, by simply noticing the in and out pattern of breath consciously in ourselves, without interference or manipulation, helps us gain insights into the relationship of breathing and its effect on our inner and outer lives.
